Game Master Rules

If you are interested in running games at ConGames, you will need to know the rules listed below. You will also need to register as a GM by going to the GM Reg page and email the ConGames Staff. But read this page before you click out.
We consider our receipt of your application a COMMITMENT on your part to attend the convention and run your game(s). If your plans change after we receive your application and confirm with you, and you find it necessary to reschedule or cancel your game, you must notify us immediately. No-shows will be removed from our mailing list and will not be asked to run games at any other Stonehill event.

All GMs who are scheduled to work 6 hours at ConGames 2008 (running games or working the info table or both) before June 25th will receive half-price admission. After June 25th, only open tables will be available, with no half-price admission.

The GM is the final judge of who wins his/her game(s). Please do not contact gaming companies for prize support. This is the sole responsibility of the convention staff and gaming companies take a very dim view of being approached by several different people to support the same convention. The exception to this rule is sanctioned tournaments. You must still contact us first and then get instruction on how to handle sanctioning for your game(s). At this time we can't guarantee prize support to all games. We will still be pursuing the gaming companies for support, but unless they send us prizes to give out, we can't make any promises.

Please don't sign up to run a game in hopes of running it only for your friends. Any convention guests who sign up on time may play in your game. Sign-up sheets will go out an hour before the game is to begin. There is no pre-registration or early sign-up for the games. If you wish to make your own sign-up sheet please notify us in advance. GMs must report to the gaming table immediately PRIOR to their game to pick up the sign up sheet for that game. GMs must also report to the gaming info at least 1 hour before their first game of the convention to check in. We will not put out sign up sheets for GMs who have not checked in.

GMs may not charge any additional fees to play in their game(s). If you plan to run a "sealed deck" Magic tournament, for example, you should either be prepared to provide decks free of charge or make arrangements with one of our dealers to sell decks to your players before the tournament.

All RPG GMs must supply pre-generated characters to avoid spending game time generating them.

GMs may only use the tables that are assigned to them. Please do not grab an extra table just because no on is using it at the moment.

Be prepared to run your game(s) on time. When your time slot is finished there will be another game waiting for the table, so you need to be done by then. Also, please leave your table clean at the end of your game.

All GMs will be asked to help with con security by making sure that all players at their table adhere to the convention rules.

Gaming at ConGames begins at 10:00am on Saturday and ends promptly at 6pm on Sunday. The convention staff has final say over what games get run, who runs them, and when they are scheduled.

Be fair to all your players. Remember, the object of any game is for the players to have fun!

As Game Masters, you are expected to volunteer for a minimum of 4 hours at the Gaming Registration Table and/or ConSuite during the weekend. This time can be broken up any way you wish, as long as we are assured of having coverage in these areas. Please indicate your choice for hours on the registration form and we will do our best to accommodate them.

If we havn't scared you off with all of this, then please go here to sign up.
